Happy Easter and Welcome back!
As we enter the Easter season. I invite you all to live as the Easter people we are and rejoice in the blessings of Easter. We are called to be the Resurrection and Life to all we encounter.
Easter Blessings!
Tuesday of the Second Week of Eastertide
Acts 4:32-37. The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty – Psalm 91(92):1-2, 5. John 3:7-15.
There is a deeper source to our lives
Nicodemus is invited by Jesus to see that we are not just bodies, mere material. Rather, we are body and soul. Material and spiritual. We cannot be easily pinned down. The Easter season is a celebration of that reality. We dwell very much in our bodies, they are a critical part of who we are, who God becomes in Jesus.
But they are not the whole story, for ‘the wind blows wherever it pleases’. Or, in other words, there is a deeper source to our lives. To be born of the Spirit is surely to be growing in the recognition that God is gently moving in our lives, gently inviting our response. It might be idealistic, but the portrait of the early Christians in Acts suggests a community able to address material needs because of their deep spiritual awareness and unity. Those gentle movements have practical, relational consequences.
Virtue for the Month of March is ~ Obedience
Saying “yes” to the Loving will of God and those He has set over us.
Obedience is a special virtue related to justice by which we pay our superiors a special honor which is due to them. Not only are we to obey proper authority. But we are also to submit cheerfully and willingly. And not grudgingly. Rather than seeing obedience as a burden or a limitation, we should recognize that in faithful obedience is found freedom. When we remain in obedience to lawful and just authority over us, this should lead us to a sense of freedom and peace. At times this may be difficult and require some sacrifice; however, when we deny our own will and sacrifice for the good of others, we also experience the grace and peace of acting in Christian charity.
