Thank you for helping our dismissal process flow smoothly in the afternoons. If all parents in the car line could please be mindful to leave openings for our neighbors driveways when waiting to move down Dunning street. This is both for the safety and courteousness of our neighbors.

This year is our accreditation year at OLA. Our staff is working hard on preparing our ISL Documents and evidence for our visit. We appreciate the input you have given us.
ACS WASC ( Accrediting Commission for Schools - Western Association of Schools and Colleges) ACS WASC accreditation is a process schools use to monitor student learning and set school improvement goals. ACS WASC accreditation is an ongoing cycle of quality. Schools assess their program and the impact on student learning with respect to the ACS WASC criteria and other accreditation factors.
Every six years, accredited schools conduct a self-study and host a self-study visit. The self-study process culminates in the refinement of a schoolwide action plan. Throughout the accreditation cycle, schools are expected to address the schoolwide action plan and demonstrate evidence of acceptable student achievement and school improvement. Appropriate reports and reviews throughout the six-year cycle of accreditation support this process.

Gradelink ~ SmartSend Pro Notice
Due to telecom industry changes, many providers sending messages via SMS will be moving from sending via short code (5-digit numbers) to long code/”10DLC” (essentially a standard 10-digit number). So what does that mean for our school?
Gradelink has updated their system so when parents, students or staff receive SMS messages from OLA’s Gradelink account via SmartSend Pro, instead of appearing to come from the current shortcode (99538), it will be sent from a 10-digit number. This number is assigned to our school and will match our school’s area code. A side benefit will be improved deliverability and a higher level of trust.
OLA’S “Thank You” Celebration and BBQ
On September 3, our parish is celebrating the rededication of the Altar and Baptismal Font. This event is sponsored by our Parish - there is no charge to attend and enjoy a meal, fun, and games. The celebration will begin after the 4:30 pm Mass celebrated by Archbishop Jose H. Gomez. After mass the “Thank You” celebration will kick off beginning with BBQ hamburgers and /or hot dogs meals with a variety of desserts, including Kona Ice Truck. Please RSVP on the OLA Church website and you will automatically be entered for a chance to win the Grand Prize drawing. The deadline to RSVP for the grand prize drawing and runner up prize is August 30th.

Our school is sponsoring the Cakewalk. This is a great first opportunity to earn parent hours. We need volunteers to work the game and we need baked goods that are individually wrapped. Below is the link to a signup genius for time slots to work the game and one for baked items.

Confirmation at OLA Parish
Tuesday week 22 in Ordinary Time 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 The Lord is just in all his ways – Psalm 144(145):8-14. Luke 4:31-37 The Spirit reaches even the depths of God Every one of us has a special relationship with the Holy Spirit. It is a central part of the gift of being human. God works in us and through us and alongside us, building bridges and knocking down walls. St Paul had a great understanding of this. Remember that beautiful line in the letter to the Romans: ‘the spirit comes to help us in our weakness’. I don’t think any of us gets far as a Christian without feeling the force of those words. The greatest moments in life are when our frailty encounters God’s strength, when our self-deception encounters God’s vision. Today St Paul says that ‘the Spirit teaches us the depths of everything, even the depths of God’. Our depths can only be known by the Holy Spirit. Jesus shows us this in today’s Gospel. The people in his home district are blinded by their shallow expectations of life’s possibilities.
