From the Desk of the Principal…January 3, 2023
Happy New Year!
Welcome back! We were happy to see all of our students back safe and ready to learn! We pray that you all enjoyed a wonderful break with family and friends.
Most Holy Name of Jesus
1 John 2:29 – 3:6. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God – Psalm 97(98):1, 3-6. John 1:29-34.
‘Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world’
Imagine being there for these words, when John the Baptist recognizes Jesus as the Messiah. Perhaps you’re a follower who’s been drawn to John’s preaching, baptised by him in water, and listening to his words about God.
Until now, you’ve understood God as a being far beyond our day-to-day world – creating, watching, judging. Now in walks this new person, and the very man who’s been telling you about God proclaims that this new person is God, and that he’s here not to judge you for your sins, but to take them away. Let us sit with that today, and reflect on what it means to have God’s merciful presence in our lives.
